House in Paris XXe

The owner bought 2 small houses connected by a courtyard at the end of a dead-end street in the 20th arrondissement. The houses were built of bricks and mortar. For budgetary reasons, the whole complex was renovated in 4 phases:

  • The workshop on the ground floor was transformed into practice. The windows were changed to aluminum, the walls were lined, the floors were redone...

  • The night area above the study was completely broken up. Two bedrooms and a living area including kitchen, bathroom, and sanitary facilities were installed so that it could be rented independently with a small terrace.

  • The ground floor of the house at the end of the plot was completely redesigned. The kitchen and living room areas were reversed to gain privacy from the entrance. An interior staircase was created to access the bedrooms from the inside.

  • The first floor has been completely broken up. The 3 bedrooms and the mini bathroom were replaced by 2 large bedrooms and a comfortable bathroom. The attic was integrated into the first floor to gain in volume and light. The installation of skylights has brightened up the whole. The courtyard, the staircase, and the facades have been renovated, the materials changed and modernized.
